  • Homemaker
  • Personal Care (bathing)
  • Respite Care (for caregivers)
  • Adult Day Care
  • Companion Care

In 1998, the Michigan Legislature approved the statewide expansion of the Long-Term Care Home and Community Based Medicaid Waiver, commonly known as the Waiver program.  The purpose of this program is to offer choices by assisting the elderly and adult disabled populations to safely remain at home rather than be placed in a nursing home.  This is accomplished by assessing client need and coordinating their care.  The foundation of the program is to offer the client a choice.

By becoming an approved Medicaid Waiver provider, your business would be placed in a “service pool.” When your services are needed, the client is given the choice of providers and a care manager will contact you.

If you are interested in becoming a service provider, please attend the next semi-annual Waiver Provider meeting (see Calendar / Meetings) and speak with the agency representative at the meeting.
