Is your community Elder Friendly?

  The R2AAA Advisory Council began working on a project last year that they are excited about.  Their hope is to address some of the most important concerns and issues that our seniors in this region are facing such as transportation and access to public facilities.  This group is working on a questionnaire that they will use to survey various businesses such as grocery and retail stores, and restaurants.  Businesses that are found to fulfill an adequate number of criteria from the questionnaire will be given a sign for their window declaring them to be "Elder Friendly."  Elder Friendly businesses will be those that are physically set up in such a way that makes it easy for seniors to come in and use their products and services.  This will be a voluntary survey on the part of the businesses, and it does not imply adherence to, or violation of state or federal laws.
